Why In-House Wireless Paging?

In-House Paging Benefits: In-House paging systems send messages very quickly (within 2-3 seconds) and have no monthly service charge. More importantly, in-house paging provides the user with a flexible paging process that can be handled by switchboard operators, local PABX systems, or local nurse call or security systems. These systems can provide detailed reports of all the messaging activities with date and time stamps. In-house paging systems use their own local radio transmitter that provides optimal local coverage. In the event that the user is not on-site, the in-house paging system can connect to the wide area service and send the page. In-house paging has superior signal strength. Data is sent with greater accuracy resulting in no garbled messages.

Wide area / Long-Range paging limitations: Wide area paging services provide expanded paging coverage mainly in heavily populated areas to thousands of users. The main disadvantages to wide area service are the costly monthly fee and more important the time delay between initiating and receiving a page. Pages for each user are processed one at a time, thus creating a paging traffic jam in which the average message will be received by the user in 3-30 minutes. Some wide area paging services may also provide poor coverage in some areas (especially in buildings, basement areas, etc.), which results in potential message loss.

The VS5100 PC based pocket paging system is sophisticated yet easy to use. Send alphanumeric, numeric, tone-and-voice, or tone only messages to up to 10,000 pagers. An easy to use database allows the user to manage a pager fleet in the most efficient way. The VS5100 processes information from a variety of sources including; telephones, video display terminals, alarm points, or automatically through a RS232 serial port interface (i.e. nurse call, building automation, security systems and others). The VS5100 multi-user system can be networked with other computers and is ideal for mid to large size pocket paging applications.

The VS3100 Advanced Pocket Paging System is ideal for cost effective, reliable communications and interfaces with most of the nurse call systems in the healthcare market.

The Visiplex VS1500 system is designed to interface with existing in-house Audio/Visual Nurse Call systems, and improve this system efficiency by adding wireless paging and messaging. Each resident call is translated to a detailed text message sent to the care giver pager.
A VS1500 system can be expanded to monitor up to 1000 rooms and works with most nurse call brands.
