The Visiplex VS4820 base station can monitor NOAA weather radio broadcasts and initiate pre-programmed public notification events in the event of a severe weather warning. The VS4820 pre-programmed events can include activating wireless PA speakers for voice announcements and public alerts, SMS text notifications, text messaging to public area LED message boards, and the activation of beacon lights for visual alerts.

A basic wireless weather alert system starts at approximately $870 (the VS2218 wireless lightning sensor and one VNS2620 wireless PA speaker).  The expandable weather alert system, that includes a VS4820 base station, VNS2620 wireless PA speaker and NOAA weather radio, will start at approximately $1,740. The actual system cost will mostly be based on the quantity of wireless PA speakers, LED message boards and visual alert devices that are needed to match your needs.

The Visiplex wireless system uses an FCC-approved band to send voice and data information to all of its wirelessly controlled devices. The system uses the necessary transmission power to provide full coverage to any facility.

Visiplex weather alert systems can be installed without the need of professional installers. Since the entire system is wireless, all of the remote components, such as speakers, message boards and visual alert devices, can be installed without any professional assistance. Connecting to AC power or a POE power source is all that needed. Visiplex wireless devices, such as LED message boards and PA speakers, are offered with a built-in power backup option to ensure full functionality during power outage situations. It is recommended that all other system components, such as the base station and external transmitters, will be equipped with a power backup UPS.
